Established in 2000, Harex Infotech has spearheaded the Ubiquitous Mobile Payment Service Technology, a proximity payment system based on NFC technology, enabling financial transactions of all types on the mobile phone, regardless of time and location. Harex offers trusted services to the Mobile Payment Service System ecosystem to enable Service Providers- such as banks, merchants, transport companies and public authorities- to securely provide and manage online their security sensitive applications on the consumer’s NFC enabled mobile devices in cooperation with Mobile Network Operators. Harex also owns patents covering several aspects of mobile payment systems including technology for putting account data into a wireless device to create a virtual card by OTA, contactlessly or by cable. CURRENT STATUS: While the others dream of the potential of a genuine country wide cashless mobile payment system, Harex is already on its way to realize that dream. It has readers at over 150,000 stores across South Korea and many users of the system.
